muffyne indeed follow me up last night for a second can, which i suspected he would since his schedule yesterday was so off kilter....i hope that doesn't happen again tonight, though i won't be surprised if it does.....
i didn't cross stitch any today.....i DID cross stitch around 7 hours the other day though so that can tide me over a day or two....
it was BLISS to be in bed last night with a little light weight device instead of my heavy laptop!!! no, seriously, it doesn't take much!!! i ordered a case/cover for it from amazon so hopefully that'll get here monday at the latest....it'll become a stand for it too....
spent probably more time than i care to admit trying to figure out a program on the tablet today....having never had mobile internets before i'm in uncharted territory.....i did gain access to my music folder on my PC via the program i was shown yesterday but i couldn't get it to transfer more than one song at a time to the tablet itself and then i couldn't figure out the music player within that program.....
so i got to googling and i actually went to the samsung page and somehow saw where they recommended a different app that i was using to transfer files from the PC and you actually handled the files ON your pc after the app created a connection with the pc....oh that worked great!!! it let me fiddle with files already on my tab---via my pc---too....so i'll use this KIES program awhile to get the hang of things before going back to the other one where i need an instruction manual....this KIES app is very easy and quick to learn....
music player wise i just found winamp in the app store....of course i had to figure out the mobile version but i use winamp on my pc, so i'm familiar with it....so yes, right now i have some music on the tablet and i know how to get more on there very easily now.....
then i had the FB app for like 5 minutes....that was fucking annoying.....i'll just use FB from firefox on there....FUCK, that was annoying...it looks exactly the same as via a browser EXCEPT they insert 'sponsored posts' which i don't have on my PC as i have adblock plus....i scrolled down and had 3 sponsored posts and yes on each one i tapped out 'fuck off with your sponsored post'...then i deleted the fb app....fuck that!
adblock plus will make you VERY spoiled with no ads anywhere!! yeah, i found that app too....but that didn't block those sponsored posts....
alright...yeah....boring post....but uh, those figuring outs took quite a bit of time....i'm gonna peruse the actual manual too....best go start muffyne on his bedtime feeding and then see if we have to 'repeat'....
oh, gotta be vigilant about the dogs.....a neighbor's dog got sprayed by a skunk early this morning! EEK!!! it was still dark out too....i know some people have to let their dogs out when it's still dark in the morning, but i always wait, and that's one of the reasons why....of course they could get sprayed by a skunk at bedtime too....
wind is picking up and miss ellie emailed me and said her lights have flickered....now mine have NOT, knock on wood....i think ohio edison FIXED the problem....knock on wood!!!!!
you should be able to get the Pandora music app on your tablet, also. that's cool, it lets you choose an artist, then they chose songs from that singer PLUS stuff that sounds similar or is from a similar era. example, i have elvis as one station, and frank sinatra as another. that keeps me amused for some time. *G*
barnes & noble and kobo both have apps, and both of them have plenty of free books. kindle has an app, too, but i'm not as familiar with their book services. (the nook i have is through B&N of course.)
its a lot of fun, and i'm enjoying it immensely. of course, if i'm not connected to the house's broadband or in a B&N store, i cant do internet things, but i have close to 100 books without paying for more than 3 or 4 of them. :)
i saw pandora listed in the free apps.....i did d/l kindle but i haven't logged in and check it out yet....it has google reads (i think that's the name of it??) already on it too.....
yeah, if i'm somewhere w/o out internets i'd be the same way, but i figure that is a-okay with me!!!
google reads is a good program, as i remember there are free books on there, too. (unfortunately for your tastes, there are a LOT of paranormal romance/bodice rippers/cracktastic self-published crap/porn slightly disguised as "erotica" in the free stuff. it amuses the hell out of me, though!!)
now i gotta ask the big question...did you NAME your tablet yet?? mine got named. i was trying to do something one night and it wasnt acting like i wanted it to and i said "come on, ya heifer!" and there it was. so the nook is officially named "heifer". :D
i have found a few free things in kindle that interest me....i found looking on my PC for free kindle stuff is WAY easier than searching via the tablet! so that's what i've done...then i 'purchase' it (though it's free) and when i next turn on the tablet it'll download....
